Crocheting My Life Back: Update 2

The Statistics
Current Weight: 295
Weekly Loss/Total Loss: -2/-5

Squares Allowed: 5
Squares Completed: 0

Thoughts on my weekly change
This week went a bit better in the stair climbing department simply because I could walk all days of the week, even after one day when I climbed 32 flights of stairs. I did much better in not giving into the temptations of the lemonade mix we keep in the fridge.

Things I have changed in the last week
Honestly.... I didn't change a whole lot this week. I was more cognizant of what I was drinking at night and tried to keep my portions and snacking in check - but I did not increase my exercise at home, which I was hoping to do.

I didn't get the cards... had a whole week to do it but either 1) I didn't remember or 2) the cards I saw were flippin' expensive.

Things I want to do next week
Ok, next week I want to get some cards. I also want to do at least one run provided the weather lets up a little. It's cold outside!

Picture Time
No pictures this week as I haven't hit a 10 pound loss. That's ok though - maybe next week.

Reflections and Responses to Last Week's Comments
I want to welcome Colletta to the "program" although there really isn't a program to follow. I created a Mr. Linky for any and all who are combining bettering their health with crafting so please, do feel free to leave a link to your blog update.

Sara brought up something about admission of something embarrassing - and that is pretty  much what I'm doing on this blog. I'm genuinely embarrassed by my weight and by admitting my issues here, I'm laying it on the line. Anyone who reads this blog series will see where I have succeeded and also failed.... Obviously, I don't want to fail at this... why? Not because its embarrassing but because it is my life. If I continue to live my life at this weight, or bigger (since we all know that is what happens), it will kill me. It is already killing me emotionally and socially - the natural progression of things is killing me physically. I know it won't be long until I hear the dreaded words "you have diabetes" ...

I think what has gotten me the most is why haven't I made any squares? I cast on a new project .... I had time for a square or two, but yet I chose something else. I don't have an answer for that yet but it is definitely something to think about.

In addition to increasing my exercise at home, I plan on getting together a layout for my squares and to start making a couple of the squares I have earned.

So with that said, I wish you all a wonderful weekend full of healthy choices and plenty of moments to craft.

Are you using some form of crafting to get your life back on track? Share a link to your most recent update.

What about a row or "distance" (like.. 2 inches) of a blanket for whatever goal you have set. Colletta is doing a square for every 5K distance.

Whatever it ends up being, it is going to be a visualization of what you have done - on so many levels :) But part of this is learning to love yourself (no shame) throughout the process.

I look forward to see what you come up with.
