HAPPY NEW YEAR!
This is one of the few Year of Projecsts posts I've done live - ie I haven't set it up ahead of schedule and let blogger auto-post it for me. I don't know why - I looked at the post a couple days ago and just figured "eh - I'll work on it later." Well, here it is Sunday ... later... and I don't have anything ready *laughs*

This last week has been one free of crochet. I don't know why - it just has. I have been knitting on a scarf for a co-worker (a paid gig) so perhaps that is why? I really do wish knitting went faster. Oh well.... I guess it doesn't help that when I go through my project bags the majority of it is knitting.

I am hoping to pick up my table runner project again (you remember that one, don't you?) I have made no progress on the table runner since last we met (late November, I'm guessing). But that's ok. I got a ton of Christmas crafting done and crafting for the craft fair I participated in a couple weeks ago.

My dearest man went out today with my daughter (the model) in tow to take some well lit photos of some of the things I worked on the last couple weeks for the craft show.

This tam is actually one of my favorite items I made. I have no idea when or where I picked up the yarn, but it is a very soft acrylic with a slight shimmer to the yarn... which of course does not show up in the photos.

Go figure.

I ended up adding a bunch of the items to my etsy shop, if you are interested (linked in the right column). You don't even have to buy - I was mostly just impressed with the photos the man took for me *laughs*

Oh well - today will end up being a pretty sedate day. Everyone is relaxing a bit. The kids don't go back to school until Wednesday and I have tomorrow off too. I'll be popping some of my Zesty Turkey Meatloaf into the oven in a couple hours so do know that in a few I'll be sitting down to a nice, hearty home-cooked meal that is friendly to my weight loss adventure.

If you are interested in the recipe I'll be making, I posted it at SparkRecipes: Family Size Ground Turkey Meatloaf

Have a great holiday and a wonderful 2012!

Happy New Years!  Isn't it odd how some times the details of certain yarns don't show up in pictures?  Anyway, the tam looks great!

I really wish that shimmer would show up. Its not like the Red Heart shimmer yarn where it is its own thread spun into the yarn - the yarn fibers themselves have a soft shimmer.

I like your tams!  They are really cute.  Today has been a sedate day for us as well.  After church we came home and had lunch, I played on the internet for a while and then I took a 2 1/2 hour nap!  Of course I won't want to sleep tonight but I have tomorrow off so...  My husband made a roasted chicken for dinner and some red potatoes.  Yummy!  Happy New Year!

Thank you very much :) I am usually not a "fancy hat" maker but I liked how they came out. Sounds like you had a pretty good New Years Day to me!

I really do wish the sunlight showed off the shimmer a bit more - but I must admit, I've contemplated keeping it hehehe
