I suppose I had a little bit of progress this last week. I did finish one of the cloths for my SIL's Christmas present, bringing the total for her up to 2 out of 5. So, even though its small, I still think its good progress considering there are less than 100 days until Christmas.

I took a bit of a yarn trip with a friend from my yarn group - we drove an hour or so to go to 2 yarn stores in a city north of us - while both shops were really nice, the first one we went to was amazing! There were several rooms full of yarn and other yarny goodness. I liked walking around and touching the various types of yarn - the cashmere silk being my favorite. I think the next time I go up there, I'm going to buy some of that yarn! I don't know what I'll make out of it but I know whatever I make will be mine and it will be nice!

I was able to get some superwash wool to make a pair of boot cuffs, which I started and finished today (Sunday). I love Netflix for the very reason I can put some mindless show on and listen whilst I hook away - it really is relaxing. So after a couple hours, I had created the pink boot cuffs you see pictured here.

They are pretty simple - I created them by using 25 half double crochet ribbing and then joining with a slip stitch when I had it long enough to go around her leg. I started out attempting to knit it but it didn't come out quite right and the cast off was much too stiff to be on something like a cuff. I was worried I has used up too much of the yarn to make two crocheted cuffs, but - I was ok in the end. In fact, I had a wee bit of the yarn left over - *whew*

I have made progress on the Navajo Indian Multi-Colored Afghan. I have about two feet done at this point in time - which means only 5 more feet to go! I would really like to get it done by the end of October, but I'm not sure if that is going to happen. Either way - I do think I could get it done by Christmas.... I hope. I think I'll be far enough along next Sunday to post a progress photo of that blanket. I'm pretty sure my brother doesn't read my blog so all should be safe to share.

Other than that - it has been slow going here. I still have a promised tutorial I must create for HeadHuggers.org (check it out if you are looking for a place to donate chemo caps). I feel like I have slacked on the video tutorials tremendously and would like to get back into that soon. I enjoy doing the tutorials - but I admit, my hands look atrocious! hehehe

You're making great progress, I wouldn't worry about one slow week at all. I love the colour of the boot cuffs - I think that's a great idea. My kids could do with some of those. x

Hahaha. Maybe you can get a manicure before your videos to make it more fun :).

I love the boot cuffs. The different types of crochet fabric really interest me. And looking forward to seeing the afghan!
