iYarny Ravelry Group

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a fantastic Saturday.

I'm taking a quick moment to announce a new Ravelry group designed to be a support forum to iYarny. Obviously, you have to be a member of Ravelry to join the forum, but that shouldn't too bad because membership is free and of course, you get the bonus of using the website for other forum interactions, patterns, organizing stash, and a host of other yarn related fun.

The point of the group is to be support to the online group. We have to accept that not everyone will be able to join into the scheduled meet-ups. By using the forum at Ravelry, I can make announcements, we can have conversation outside of the chat module simply because someone in the UK may not be up to chat with a fellow yarnie in the US - they can then have delayed conversations in the forum rather than being frustrated at not having a good time to meet in the chat module.

I also will have the benefit of being able to track membership a little better. Yes - you can become a member of the chat module group, but I think because the group is currently "open" we will have a lot of people joining in the chats that may not be a member of the group. If a person deliberately goes to Ravelry, then they have to join the group in order to post there. It also opens up the group to people we may never see in the chat module but still wish to participate.

The chat module will continue to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I am looking to add some more scheduled chat times soon, some themed and some not. If you are interested in hosting a meet-up of your own, shoot me an email and we can get something set up.

Also watch for a little job/contest associated to iYarny in the very near future!

So, interested in joining up? Here is the link to the iYarny Ravelry Group.

I hope to see you there!
