I am new at crocheting. I like to get together with friends for tea and goodies. I love the coasters. I'm going to take the pattern to my crochet coach and have her help me make them for my next tea party. Thanks for an unusual practical, idea! Donna

Thank you for such a great and cute pattern. I am going to make this for a Senior's Mother's Tea. The ladies will really love this. Knowing most of them will laugh about the toes on the coaster. I will make sure I tell them where I got the pattern. Thenk you and God Bless

They are really cute. I was crocheting waiting at a Dr. appt. and everybody thought they were great. Of course I told them where I got the pattern. I Hve a problem I can't get them to lay flat. I have made like 8 or 9 and they all want to curl up. My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was 4 yr. and that was a long time ago. I just wich I knew what I was doing wrong.
Thank you and God Bless

First of all I wanna thank you for sharing the pattern with all of us. I'm a Swedish crocheter and I learned the English crochetterms a year ago and I really loved making those. Keep up the good work. Hugs from Sweden.. // Lina

I loved making these cute little coasters. As a mother of 3 little kids, I don't have a lot of time for crochet, so projects like these are perfect for me. I'm going to make a bunch of them for christmas gifts this year. Thank you for sharing the pattern.

To Debbibearz

I would suggest using a hook 1 size bigger (you may crochet tighter than I do). This may help alleviate the curling.

Im having trouble understanding tying the toes together part..

Cris said...

Hi there - there is no right or wrong way to get the toes sewn together as long as you keep them as tidy as possible. I used a tapestry needle and used the outside tail from the circle (not the circle) to stitch them together.  I used a quick whip stitch between 2 stitches on one and on the other. Hope this helps - if not, just reply to this comment.

That helped a lot! Thank you!

I am looking forward to trying these.  What a great idea.  I am always checking to see where to put my spoon.

Thanks! I am still using the ones in the picture :) They hold up great and work like a charm. If you make them and post a picture anywhere, do let me know. I'd love to see them

Love this idea.  What is the finished diameter of the circle?

Cris said...

The main circle is about 4-5 inches in diameter.

Just finished a pair with no problem. I think my collage age daughter will love these toes on her table!

I like this pattern and would like to crochet it but I don't have a half reem of paper to print all of these comments.  Does this pattern appear somewhere as a pdf?  Thanks

Cris said...

I have not put it into a pdf; however, you should be able to highlight only the pattern text and then go to File/Print and make sure "Selection" is selected before you hit the print button. A good recommendation though. I should get all of my patterns as pdfs.

I just did a print preview, my printer gives me option of selecting what pages i want to print, and printed only those pages

Love the pattern it looks awesome! I'm making coasters for an auction we are holding at my work for donations to a former co-worker's family (co-worker passed away, we're raising money to help them with costs of the whole thing). Would it be alright if i made these up for that? I will give credit, i hate taking credit for work that isnt my own

Cris said...

I think it would be a FANTASTIC reason to make some of these coasters :)

I crochet looser than most people. Example:  When I pick up my mother 's crochet project I have to use a smaller hooker.  I will tryit with a smaller hook .  Thank you fjor your help.  I have been trying to pick out which coaster to putin open class for the fair. If I get one of these done it time.  I will put it in the fair.  I''l let you know how we did.
