First and foremost my thoughts and prayers are with those struggling with another anniversary of that tragic day at the Twin Towers.

As for my update, I did get a start on the Joseph Wrap I'm making for my oldest daughter as a Christmas present. I swapped out the suggested Noro for some Lionbrand Homespun... and I remembered again why I detest crocheting with the homespun. I do think I'll be ok with it in the end; however, it is a bear to work with.

I finished a knit washcloth earlier this week. I think it's cute and I was able to use up the tiniest scrap of blue cotton I had left along with a bigger ball of a self striping green cotton. I broke out the crochet hook at the end and did up a little loop to hang the cloth on our shower hooks. Go me.

I did have a little difficulty in the color start of the blue but the color swap back to green went ok. If you look in the photo, you can see on the lower right side where the green starts with blue, it looks a little 'pulled' - that's the faux pas. But on the upper left side where the blue goes back to green, it doesn't look half bad. Lesson learned ..... quickly!

I honestly did not get near as much crochet done this passed week as I had originally hoped but work and school have really stepped up a notch. It'll be the same for next week too, which is unfortunate but necessary.

For work, I have my regular job, my internship, side projects being handed to me by my team, and now a team member has went on vacation and I am apparently the only backup for said individual. I'm now working 14 hour days for my employer on top of being a full time mom and attempting to be a productive student. Usually I can count on Saturday and Sunday as good, hearty crochet days but today and tomorrow are going to be filled with homework and scripting for a state release and a bundle release to testing (work). The sad part is that it is weeks like this that I could gain the most benefit of relaxing with my hobby but never get the time to do it.

By the end of next week I'll be ready for a Saturday of crochet.... oh, wait... I have an exam that next Monday.

dagnabit!

Oh well. Since I didn't have much progress, I figure I'll leave ya with a picture of my goofy dog, Andrew, whilst you peruse my progress list below.

Sounds like you have a huge amount on your plate, but with the skilss needed to put crochet and knitting in the same project, you definitely have it in you!

Love blue and green together so think your cloth is perfect.  I'm surprised to hear you don't like working with homespun.  I always loved crocheting with it cause it went fast.  Likewise knitting with it.

The nice thing about cotton dishcloths is that after you wash them and they shrink ever so slightly, all the imperfections you noticed when you first made them disappear. Sending happy crochet thoughts your way!

What a lovely pooch!

Some weeks are manic, aren't they? I guess those are the times you have to go with the flow and look forward to any time off that you get. Hope you have a good one!
